Chapter 14 Reflection – The Development and Evolution of Human Performance Involvement.
Again after reading this chapter, I found myself glazy-eyed, and only half understanding how to relate HPI to the field of aviation. I do believe however, that nearly every organization, whether for profit, or not will at some point in its existence go thorugh, and evaluate its potential for HPI. Possibly even continuously in order to survive. In my field (aviation education) we must meet industry standards for certification. Over time, those standards have changed, and will continue changing with the needs of the industry. In order for our organization to continue to be successful, these type of frequent evaluations of HPT, and HPI are critical. I particularly liked the HPT model of the International Society of Performance shown in figure 14.2 of chapter 14.
Podcasting: Along with the RSS reader, I beleive that podcasting can be a great tool for people in aviation. After doing a bit of research on podcasts, and doing a simple search for "aviation" podcasts, I came across a plethera of awesome RSS feeds, and podcasts. Having students use this tool seems like it would be a great way for them to not only keep up on current events in aviation, but also study various subjects from people who have already created podcasts in our study areas!

I couldn't agree more, while it is not as serious as flying, when I worked at a retail store it was the same. We would have updates that needed to be presented to everyone and the management had to decide on the best way to present that information, in comes HPT and HPI. I was also a little glazy eyed after the reading, maybe next week I will read the chapter twice.
